On this video, you will get to learn and celebrate the history and culture of the Luo community. In Seme sub county, the land is spread out will rocks across the lands. One unique rock is the Kit Mikayi. The rock is around 120m high.
Learn about an interesting legend why the name rock is referred to as “the stone of the first wife” in Dholuo, the luo culture. The locals living around the stone are known as the luo-kakello clan.
Significance of the rock "Kit Mikayi"
1. Regional site for sightseeing interest.
2. Site is associated with sacrifices and many legends from pre-Christian time’s especially on explanation on the given name.
3. A popular local pilgrimage site for followers of the legio Maria sect who come to the rock to pray and fast for several weeks at a time.
