Описание: In electrical systems, both neutral and earthing (grounding) wires are essential for safety and functionality, but they serve very different purposes.

​1. Function and Purpose
​Neutral Wire: Its primary job is to provide a return path for the electrical current to get back to the power source under normal conditions, the neutral wire always carries current to complete the circuit.

​Earthing (Ground) Wire: This is a safety wire. Under normal operating conditions, it carries no current. It is only used during a "ground fault"—for example, if a loose hot wire touches the metal casing of an appliance.

​2. Safety Role
​Neutral: Keeps the circuit balanced and functioning. Without a neutral, electricity cannot flow to power your devices.
​Earthing: Protects humans from electric shock. Because the earthing wire has very low resistance, electricity will prefer to travel through it rather than through a person if a fault occurs. This sudden surge of current through the earth wire also helps trip the circuit breaker immediately to cut off the power
.
​3. Connection to the Earth
​Neutral: Connected to the center of the transformer coil.
​Earthing: Connected to metal parts of appliances, switch plates, and a physical ground rod buried in the soil outside the property.
