Markers date to the 17th century but the church itself is built on the site and graves of the 6th-century monks of Lindisfarne established by St. Aidan who came from Iona.

Hear Mindie Burgoyne recount the story of St. Aidan and the tradition of the Celtic Cross, and hear about the memorial marker to a young man whose body was left on the fields of Flanders during World War I, and view images of the old 12th-century abbey ruins.
