👉Step-by-step check:
1. Turn all tension dials back to 0 first.
2. Re-thread the machine step by step by following the threading guide on the serger.
Make sure to pull the thread straight and snug as you guide it through each point.
3. Once completed, set all tension dials back to 4 (the standard setting),
then sew a few test stitches to check whether the thread loosening issue is resolved.

👉Common causes of thread loosening:
🔺The thread is not properly seated between the tension discs during re-threading.
🔺Incorrect looper threading (not following the indicated positions or order).
🔺The needle thread bypasses the thread guides (marked as ⑭ in the manual of MLD42) and goes directly into the needle eye.
🔺After threading, the threads are not positioned under the presser foot and pulled toward the back.
🔺When starting to sew, the tension dials are left at 0 instead of being adjusted back to 4 or suitable setting for your projects.
