In this video, I’ve explained how to plot a Tippon to the scale of 1:1000 using the Representative Factor (RF) method. This is one of the most essential skills every licensed surveyor must know. I’ve broken it down in a simple and practical way so that even beginners can understand how RF works and how to apply it while plotting Tippons.
📐 What is RF (Representative Factor) in Surveying?
RF stands for Representative Factor, and it tells us how much the actual ground distance is reduced to fit on paper when making a map or Tippon drawing.
It's a ratio between the distance on the map and the corresponding distance on the ground
For example, if 1 cm on the Tippon represents 1000 cm (10 meters) on the ground, then:
RF=1:1000
This means the map is 1/1000th the size of the real land.
