Forced to Move Pitch in Whitby | Windy Cliffside Van Life & Foggy Goathland Escape

Описание: We wake up to a blustery morning at Whitby Holiday Park, after a comfortable night’s sleep in our WildAx van. Jane heads for the shower while Johnny tackles the less glamorous side of van life—putting the bedding away. Being pitched right on the edge by the cliffs, the wind is strong, so Johnny heads to reception to see if we can move. After some friendly negotiating, we’re offered a few options and decide that Pitch 5 will be perfect for our second night.

Next, we head out across the moors to Goathland. The drive is incredibly atmospheric, with thick fog rolling in across the landscape. Parking is pricey for just an hour, so we make the most of it—starting with a visit to the tea shop where we can’t resist a few sweet treats.

As we wander around the village, we point out several familiar filming locations from Heartbeat, bringing back memories from previous visits.

Back in Whitby, we treat ourselves to a takeaway from the famous Magpie Cafe—opting for gluten-free fish and chips—before heading back to the campsite to enjoy them in the comfort of the van.
