In this video, I'll show you how to tie what I think is the most effective fly for catching perch, and then I'll show you how I fish it here in Austin, Texas. This little fly is easy and inexpensive to tie and is made with the following materials:
Size 10 Jig Hook
Pearl Core Braid (Root Beer)
Golden Brown Ice Dubbing
Saddle Hackle
I like to use a tenkara rod or lightweight fly rod (3 wt or smaller) when using this fly because most of the fish that I catch with it is less than 1 pound.
