Staff from across the OPEC Fund came together to mark the organization’s 50th anniversary, celebrating five decades of development cooperation rooted in partnership and impact.

The event offered a moment to reflect on our journey — from the OPEC Fund’s origins in South-South cooperation to our role today as a trusted development partner working in more than 125 countries.

OPEC Fund President Abdulhamid Alkhalifa addressed colleagues in a packed Atrium and highlighted the vital role of staff in shaping the institution’s legacy and future, underscoring partnership as the foundation of lasting development and a guiding principle for the next fifty years.

Beyond the ceremonial moments, the celebration also marked:
• The publication of the special Golden Jubilee edition of the OPEC Fund Quarterly
• The internal launch of the 50th anniversary communications campaign, designed to support clear, consistent and shared storytelling across the institution under the theme Where Partnership Powers Progress
