Long-running radio or television series known as soap operas are generally characterized by melodramas, ensemble casts, and sentimentality. The phrase "soap opera" comes from radio dramas that were initially supported by soap companies.

As longtime television viewers know, soap operas once filled the networks' daytime schedules. Today, only three of them remain, The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless.

These shows have brought so much joy to many people, because of the superb storylines and jaw dropping plot twists, but most importantly, are the amazing acting skills of the industries talented actors and actresses.

Unfortunately, with each year that goes by, fans of daytime television have to say goodbye to some of the industry’s beloved actors...
