The Riga Porcelain Museum offers to delve into the history of the luster, its historical developement and application in the production of porcelain. Luster is one of the oldest medium in porcelain art – a special stain and firing technique that gives a ceramic or porcelain object a metallic, shimmering sheen. Porcelain artist Ilona Romule introduces the luster technique, shares her practical insights and demonstrates the painting methods.
The video was created as part of the educational program, which is supported by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Riga City Council.
The project is implemented by the Riga Porcelain Museum, the Association of Cultural Institutions of the Riga City Municipality.
