Transgender Day of Visibility 2025

Описание: Today (31st of March) is Transgender Day of Visibility, but for me, EVERY day is Transgender Day of Visibility, as I’m visible as a proud (and very gobby) transgender woman all year round!

However, it’s not safe for many trans people around the World to be visible and increasingly, that’s in the US as they are being legislated out of existence by the Mango Mussolini and his Nazi chums. Many trans people in the UK feel it’s not safe to be visible too, as according to Galop’s 2020 Transphobic Hate Crime Report, 54% of trans people feel unable to leave their home due to transphobia. I’m not surprised about this, as they see so much trans-hostility and misinformation in the mainstream media, on social media and in politics and they think that real life is like that too.

While that may be true for a small group of trans-hostile people (including some in positions of power, such the US President and the UK’s Prime Minister and Health Secretary), most people ARE supportive of trans people. In my experience, most people are lovely people who don’t want to offend. So for any trans people watching this, I want you to know that you are loved and that the World WILL let you in.

And if you are not transgender, I would like you to know that no-one chooses to be trans. Who on earth would choose to embark on such a difficult journey? I fought against it for 48 years, while pretending to be the man who I thought others wanted me to be, until I just couldn’t live a lie anymore. The only choice we have is whether to do anything about it or not. For many, this is a life or death decision. I chose to be happy and to live my truth and I can honestly say that I’m the happiest now that I have ever been.

So just remember, trans people are just ordinary people who want to be happy.

Happy Transgender Day of Visibility and if you are a trans or non-binary person on the US, please stay strong. This depressing and dangerous time for you will pass.
