Описание: Silence punishment is a form of emotional abuse in which an individual demonstratively rejects attempts to engage in conversation while simultaneously failing to initiate dialogue. This behavior is a nonverbal expression of contempt, dissatisfaction, resentment, and anger. The individual chooses to ignore the person with whom the conflict has arisen and sincerely believes that their silence is a sufficient response to what they consider unacceptable actions (or inactions). Simply put, the individual believes that their partner, or someone else, has done something wrong or failed to meet expectations, and to explain this, they resort to silence. Communication will not occur until they correct themselves and understand their mistake.
