The first video was a noturnal panic attack. A nocturnal panic attack is essential exactly the same as a normal panic attack, except it happens during or on the onset of sleep. There are different theories as to why this happens, such as the theory of fear of lack of vigilence. In the context of nocturnal panic, fear of lack of vigilance describes the anxious belief that if you let your guard down in sleep, you’ll miss a danger or health crisis, leading the body to jolt awake in panic as if constant watchfulness were necessary for survival.
Night anxiety, or a night time anxiety attack on the other hand often involves lying awake with racing thoughts, noticing every heartbeat or breath, and ruminating as the hours until morning tick by. Instead of rest, the mind becomes preoccupied with worry, and the fear of not being able to sleep, or a fear of something bad happening if you are to sleep.
