The Gonstead knee chest table was perfected by Dr. Clarence S. Gonstead decades ago. It was designed to utilize gravity to assist the doctor and patient to achieve a specific deeper disc set adjustment. The patient is placed on the table with their chest on the head piece and their knees in the squatting style position. This allows the patients spine to relax down with the assistance of gravity. Every vertebra in the spin including the occipital bone and pelvic girdle can be adjusted in this table. There are contra-indications to utilizing this table; patient with knee replacement, hip replacement, or straight spine. There are also exception to the rule.
