Lou Ferrigno - The man they thought would beat Arnold Schwarzenegger

Lou Ferrigno came to South Africa in 1975 to compete in the Mr. Olympia. Kevin McNamara tells us how he had to look after Lou with his training and all. He also had to keep Lou away from Arnold Schwarzenegger because they were expecting Lou Ferrigno to win Arnold.
Lou Ferrigno was a giant of a man, six-foot-six and 275 pounds and very well built.
He actually came third in the Mr. Olympia in 1975 because he didn't have quite the polish of Arnold. A fellow named Serge Nubret from France actually placed second with Arnold just managing to beat Serge Nubret and take first place.
Serge Nubret came along with his sponser Paco Rabanne at the time.
Lou Ferrigno did not compete after the 1975 Mr. Olympia because he played in movies, he play professional football and he entered strongman. He made a comeback though in the over 40 Mr. Olympia where he came second or thirds and weighed over 300 pounds. So he was a giant of a man.
