STORYLINE:
A Portuguese flight carrying 166 people arrived in Lisbon from Israel on Wednesday.

Organized by the Portuguese government, the flight carried 152 Portuguese nationals as well as 14 foreigners.

Among the people arriving was Neil Golan with his three children and wife.

Golan was visiting family in the city of Arad when the sirens began.

He ran for the bunker like everyone else and they were kept safe.

After his return flight was canceled, Golan, who lives in Portugal, managed to reach out to Portuguese authorities to be able to return.

The Israeli military said more than 1,200 people, including 155 soldiers, have died in Israel since Saturday’s incursion by Hamas militants.

In Gaza, the health ministry says more than 1,050 have been killed and over 5,100 injured.

The United Nations Palestinian refugee agency says 250,000 people have been displaced in Gaza.
