LEGENDARY SPORTSCASTERS TALK ABOUT “THE KINGS”

Legendary sportscasters Barry Tompkins and Tim Ryan visit with Hall of Fame Broadcaster Al Bernstein on “Al Bernstein Unplugged” to discuss the era of boxing’s Four Kings in advance of the airing of a special documentary series on SHOWTIME.

Tompkins and Ryan, who both announced matches involving Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns and Roberto Duran, talk about that era and comment on “The Kings,” a four part documentary series debuting on SHOWTIME Sunday, June 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The series chronicles the four fighters’ dramatic and divergent ascents to greatness and the legendary matches they produced. Bernstein said, “It was a joy to sit with Barry and Tim and reminisce about how we all helped to tell the story of these great men during that era. Both Barry and Tim are great story tellers and have great experiences to share. Their comments dovetail perfectly into discussion of this extraordinary series. This documentary does a great job of reliving the drama of that time period and showing the great accomplishments of these men.”

Al’s co-host on this show is Trip Mitchell.
