In the Khejri tree protection movement, members of the Bishnoi community were seen expressing their anger towards Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and his minister K.K. Bishnoi for failing to stop the felling of खेजड़ी trees. The people threatened the Bhajanlal Sharma government with consequences if a law protecting Khejri trees was not enacted soon. On the other hand, people were furious with Minister K.K. Bishnoi for breaking his hunger strike. They said that immediately after Minister K.K. Bishnoi offered water to the religious leaders, the people spat the water out of their mouths in protest.
