Razor burn is actually a form of contact dermatitis and appears after shaving too closely or aggressively, commonly with a blade that is too dull. This can lead to itchiness, stinging, and even a burning sensation. To prevent this, replace your blade after every five to seven shaves, and do so even more often if you have thick hair. Also, use a razor with at least five blades attached.
