To start, import your video onto the timeline and position the play head where you want the effect to occur. To create a duplicate of your video, hold down the alt key and drag the video to the track above.
Next, navigate to the effects panel and search for the "tint" effect. Apply it to your top video. In the effect controls, click on the "map black to color" box and select a vibrant red color. Then, choose a brighter shade of red for the "map white to color" box.
Now, search for the "gaussian blur" effect and apply it to your top video with a blurriness setting of around 50. To create a color matte, click on the "new" button in the project panel and select "color matte." Drag the color matte to the play head position above your clips and extend it to the end of your clips.
Then, add the "VR fractal noise" effect to the color matte. Adjust the contrast and brightness settings until you're satisfied with the appearance of the blood stains. For an animated effect, move the play head to the beginning and set a starting keyframe for the "evolution" property. Then, move the play head slightly forward and change the evolution to around 50.
To apply the blood stains to your video, search for the "track matte key" effect and apply it to the middle track. In the effect controls, set the matte to "video 3" and the composite using to "matte luma." Lastly, you can make adjustments to the blood stains by selecting the color matte and modifying the stain size.
To create a gradual disappearance of the blood stains over time, set a starting keyframe for the contrast property at the last evolution keyframe. Then, move forward in time and set the contrast to 0.
To add a more dynamic effect, use the pen tool to create a mask at the start of your preview. Increase the feather if desired. Shift and press the right arrow key to move forward in time and adjust the mask to cover a larger area. Repeat this step to gradually increase the mask's size and encompass the entire preview.
And there you have it! With these simple steps, you can easily create a blood splash effect in Premiere Pro in just a minute.
