Map 6: Mt. Erebus

Things really heat up as we move towards the end of episode 3. Mt. Erebus is an interesting one, because it's an open map where you choose your fights freely. It has a ton of monster closets, which trigger when you enter a certain area in the map. This freedom makes the map both engaging and highly replayable.

This map also contains the exit to the secret Map 9. The blue key is optional—it grants access to the normal exit, but if you opt to continue to the secret map, you won’t need it. In the video, I show the location of the blue door and the normal exit but ultimately take the secret exit.

A couple of secrets—including the path to the secret map—require platforming and can be tricky to reach. The easiest way to access the secret exit is by rocket jumping. However, if you don’t have invulnerability and prefer to avoid taking damage, you can also strafe jump into the exit, though this method can be frustrating.
