With a Safety Assurance Declaration that doesn't include 922.10 (DAA), how far can I fly the Canada Niska 1 Drone BVLOS? This video answers the question.
Transport Canada Standard 922.10 is about having drone with a built in Detect, Alert and Avoid system to avoid crude aircraft. BVLOS is still possible without it based on this carve out to standard 922:
When an operation is performed in atypical airspace as defined in AC903-001, or if an operation is performed in accordance with Standard 923 – Vision Based DAA (as per CAR 901.97(2)), then a declaration against standard 922.10 is not required.
Note: all of the information in this video is subject to Transport Canada CAR Part IX and associated standards like standard 922 and 923. You can't fly BVLOS without a Pilot Certificate "Level 1 Complex" and there are other conditions. Make sure you check and understand the regulations yourself.
