Zante Town is the commercial center and capital of the island. It is very good location for excursions around the island. After the earthquake of 1953 that ruined the majority of the buildings in Zante Town the buildings were rebuilt in the traditional Venetian Style giving significant emphasis on the protection against earthquakes.
Here is also the port from where ships leave to the neighboring islands and to mainland Greece. We sailed from here to Kefalonia with a change in Killini.
