Finally the day is here to harvest honey from all our hard work over the past year. In this video we are harvesting honey from medium frames and a few shallow frames pulled on the 23rd of May 2025.
Ben from Sandy Bottom Homestead helped me pull 72 frames from the beehives at Warden's Farm NC beekeeping Apiary. We pulled them due to running supers that the bees need for storing honey.
Bees are placing the honey in the brood chamber which means they are taking room away for the Queen to lay eggs. To solve this, we pull frames off the hives, spin them in the extractor to extract the honey, then place the "Wet Frames" back onto the hives we pulled them from for the bees to clean up and hopefully move honey from the deeps back into the supers.
