Per chiedere l’ora in italiano possiamo usare due espressioni equivalenti: “Che ore sono?” e “Che ora è?”.
Per dire l’ora usiamo “sono le...”:
es. “sono le due” (2:00), “sono le tre” (3:00), “sono le cinque” (5:00), “sono le sei e dieci” (6:10), “sono le sette e un quarto” (7:15), “sono le nove e mezza” (9:30), “sono le undici meno venti” (10:40), “sono le dodici meno un quarto” (11:45). Attenzione a:- “è l’una” (1:00), “è l’una e venti” (1:20) perché “una” è singolare.
“è mezzogiorno”, “è mezzanotte”.
Ricordate che le ore sono femminili.
In Italian there are two ways to ask the time: “Che ore sono?” and “Che ora è?”.
To tell the time we say: “sono le...”:

But be careful:
“è l’una” (1:00) and “è l’una e venti” (1:20) because “una” is singular.
