I've heard a lot lately about the EB-5 program and how developers intend to use the immigration program to raise funds for their real estate projects, but I have yet to talk to someone who has actually, successfully used the program to raise funds for billion dollar project.
While attending the CREW Network annual convention in Bellevue, Washington, Loren Cohen, Manager, Legal Affairs for MC Construction, spends some time with me discussing how MC got involved in the EB-5 program. We discuss, among other things his trip to China to speak with the investors, some of the requirements to qualify for the program and the recent visit by the Chinese president to Tacoma.
We also discuss the status of the EB-5 program and the reconsideration of the program in Congress.
