The artist that I mention right at the start is Einojuhani Rautavaara, and the composition that I'm talking about is "The Angel of Light", Symphony Nr. 7. I just discovered that the "Vincentiana" symphony no. 6, written shortly before this symphony. His "Cantus Arcticus" is another composition really worth checking out.
