LaShanda Nicole Patrick remembers growing up in a small town in Arkansas and lining up in the kitchen to get her hair down amidst a long row of siblings. At the time it was common for her mother, a hair stylist, to wash, straighten and curl their hair every two weeks. Patrick said it was then she fell in love with hair.
Just as moved as some of the guest were, patrick said creating her How-To Events have changed her life because she feels like she is giving back to community and is helping women accept themselves and their hair.
“I’m helping other women feel more confident about themselves and being more accepted in this world with revealing their natural self and wearing their hair in it’s natural form,” Patrick said.
