Today, a vibrant cultural program titled “Dia & Disha” was organized at Khalsa Girls Inter College, Govind Nagar, to mark the joyful anticipation of Diwali – the Festival of Lights. The event beautifully showcased the talents of students from classes 1 to 12, through a delightful array of songs, dances, and a well-performed dramatization of the Ramayana.
The aim of the program was not only to celebrate the festive spirit but also to instill in our students the true values and significance of Diwali – the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
We were honoured by the gracious presence of our Chief Guest, Mr. Santosh Kumar Rai Ji, District Inspector of Schools, who blessed the students and appreciated their efforts. A heartfelt thank you to him and to all the guests who joined us and encouraged our children.
The highlight of the event was a special scholarship announcement, made in memory of Late Smt. Surjeet Kaur Ji, a respected retired teacher of our school (retired in 2006). We were deeply moved to have spoken to her son, whose love and respect for his late mother inspired him to donate a generous scholarship of ₹1,00,000 to our school.
We are proud to announce that this scholarship will be awarded to two meritorious Class 12 girl students, with each receiving ₹50,000 for their academic excellence.
Our sincere thanks to all the students, teachers, and staff members who contributed to the success of the program. Special thanks to Mr Hemraj Singh Gaur, Mr. Ranmeet Lamba, Mr. Diwakar Prajapati Ji, and Mr. Manpreet Singh for gracing the occasion with their presence.
