A fully guided walk up to Seat Sandal from Grasmere. Free parking in the layby just outside Grasmere, a first ever visit to the summit of the 736m Seat Sandal. I hike up Tongue Gill, stopping at Grisdale Tarn for a good break before taking the very shaley and steep climb to Seat Sandal summit. Glorious views on a boiling hot day made the walk superbly scenic but very hot, so an ice cold shandy at The Travelers Rest on the way down was a well deserved reward for this superb 5 mile loop.
