In this direct and eye-opening Bible Study, Bishop Keith W. Reed, Sr. challenges believers to rethink the idea that we must help everyone. While Christians are called to love, Scripture makes it clear that there are certain behaviors and patterns we are not to enable.
Drawing from Proverbs, 2 Thessalonians, and other biblical texts, Bishop Reed outlines five types of people that believers must avoid helping—because helping them often harms us and enables dysfunction.
Among them:
• Lazy People – Those unwilling (not unable) to work, who repeatedly live idle lives while expecting others to carry them (2 Thessalonians 3:10–12; Proverbs 13:4).
• Manipulators – Those who distort truth, withhold information, and use guilt to control outcomes (Proverbs 12:22).
• Repeated Fools – Individuals who continually repeat destructive patterns and despise wise counsel (Proverbs 26:11; Proverbs 23:9).
• Quarrelsome & Hot-Tempered People – Those who provoke conflict and expect others to rescue them from consequences (Proverbs 19:19).
Bishop Reed reminds us that helping the wrong people can cost us our peace, drain our resources, and pull us into unnecessary chaos. God calls us to guard our hearts, establish boundaries, and practice discernment—not guilt.
This message is not about cruelty; it is about spiritual wisdom. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is refuse to enable behavior that dishonors God and harms you.

🙏 A Word on Boundaries
The Bible teaches compassion—but it also teaches responsibility.
Helping someone who refuses to change can make you complicit in their dysfunction.
Guard your peace. Guard your heart.
Discernment is not unkind—it is biblical.
