Destiny 2 OOB: The Nether: Sunless Cell Obsolete Pattern

The Sunless Cell strike boss area, home to an Obsolete Pattern!


Thanks to some work from a reasonably long list of people, we've got a route to do this solo in both the intro mission to Heresy, and in the Nether. It's easier in the intro mission, if you have the choice. You can join on someone else that has it, but if you don't have access to it, the Nether works too. You just need to avoid activating joining allies while you get to the Fount, and escape to the Asylum.

There's not too many places I know of where you can see the Obsolete Pattern texture, and I think one of them was removed at some point. The other is within the edge of the box, so you don't get to see it nearly as close up as these ones. It's a shame it'll probably all go away next season :/ So explore it while you can!

Thanks to ItAvvy for exploring this with me. Noobsanity, Pete, Solus, and Infii did some work on this in the intro mission, finding that you can spawn sparrows and getting to the pattern. Cube17 found the blink breach to get us further in, and ‪@CloudLXXXV‬ provided the last piece of the puzzle to make it soloable, removing the syncbox that we had been using. It's got a nice view out of box, so I would recommend still giving that a go if you've got the time. I was doing contest dungeon mode stuff while most of the work was going on, so I mostly just cleaned up a few steps, like turning the fallback into an easy barrier race.
