Hi everyone,

here is the second part of a series on the best dioramas at the model exhibitions I visited in 2024.
The dioramas on display were stunning.

I visited the first model show of the year in Leipheim at the Air Base Museum. The name of the exhibition is "Model Meets Original." The combination of the exhibition of real, genuine aircraft and helicopters with the one-day model exhibition in the museum's premises is always the start of the model show year for me and one of the most informal and beautiful exhibitions I know.

The Bavarian Model Show Days in Ergolding are also a great highlight in my Bavarian homeland. The Erdinger Plastik Model Building Association hosts this exhibition annually. Once again, there were plenty of airplanes and helicopters, as well as the occasional diorama. This fantastic exhibition is always worth a visit.

The model building club that's particularly dear to my heart, and in which several of my friends are members, is the Augsburg Model Building Club, which hosts a fantastic model building exhibition every two years in the small Swabian community of Hirblingen. A large number of stunning and high-quality dioramas are always on display there. It's a fantastic exhibition, but unfortunately only every two years. It'll be held again in 2026.

At the Scale Model Challenge in Eindhoven, along with Moson, probably the best models from all over Europe were on display. The competition is huge, and the number and quality of the dioramas exceeds all expectations. The wealth of high-end model making on display is incredible. Anyone who makes the trip will be thrilled by this exhibition.

In November, the South German plastic model making year concludes with the Fascination Model Making exhibition in Friedrichshafen. Plastic model making plays a rather minor role at the fairgrounds. Nevertheless, many great model makers and models can be found every year. And every year, a few gems can be found among the beauties on display.
