A Silent Day, a Little Cleaning, and Quiet Thoughts About Love and Relationships

Описание: Many women over 50 feel that relationships can be emotionally draining. For generations, women have been conditioned to carry most of the emotional labor, to be the communicator, the organizer, the healer, the one who holds everything together. We were taught, subtly and sometimes directly, to place a man’s comfort, peace, and needs above our own.

As we grow older, something shifts. We become more aware of the imbalance. We realize that when we ask for basic empathy, emotional presence, or mutual care, it can start to feel exhausting rather than romantic—especially if those needs are met with resistance.

This is not an intention to offend men. It’s simply a general observation, and one rooted in my own lived experience. Not all relationships are like this, and not all men are the same. But many women reach this stage of life feeling tired of always giving, explaining, and adjusting.

I don’t often talk about this part of my life, but since it’s Love Month, I wanted to share these thoughts honestly.

At this age, love...if it comes, should feel safe, reciprocal, and emotionally nourishing. Otherwise, choosing peace and solitude can be just as meaningful, if not more.
