Let's face it, you are not going to able to get rid of fears. It's not a thing to get rid of. It's not attached to you. You can't yank it and throw it away. You just need to let it be and carry on with your life.
So, if you want to achieve success and realize your goals, there are a few things you must understand about fear. Maybe you are afraid of failure. Perhaps you are scared of public speaking. Whatever you are scared of, there's a way to get over it.
Think about it this way: No matter what you attempt to do in life, there's always going to fear. That's why I said you can't get rid of it.
Fear is coded in our DNAs; it's in our genes. And that goes back to millions of years. When we lived in the stone age as cavemen or cavewomen, we had good reasons to be afraid.
Every day we woke up we were always looking out. We need to protect ourselves and our families. If not, wild animals would have us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Any time we would hear the rustling of the trees, we would jump and be on the alert.
But, guess what? We are no longer living in the stone age. Today, we live in civilized societies. We are living in big cities. We are no longer concerned about wild beast attacking us.
As I said, that fear continues to be passed on through genes and DNAs. As a result, any time we want to take action that is not familiar to the brain, it automatically triggers fears and tries to protect us. Simply put, the brain is designed to protect us. It wants to make sure we are safe and secure.
That's weird! The very brain that we so desperately need to thrive is the one that is generating fears. Watch the video to learn how to control your fears.
There are 3 ways to do so:
1. Educate your brain about fears, so it knows when there is a threat or a perceived threat. What's real and what's unreal.
2. Question your fear. The moment you question a thought, it disappears. That's because of the fact you question the fear, you are in the present.
Fear only exists in the past or in the future. You either are afraid something might happen in the future, or you are fearful of something that happened in the past.
3. Confront your fear. Yes, the moment you charge ahead and start confronting your fear, it will run. You see, with is a coward. It cannot resist courage.
