Not only does this give you a flat surface that will prevent those pesky lips from catching a rock, it spreads the weight of the Jeep over a much wider area giving you much more longevity in your rear axle!

This part also offers you much more protection for your rear drive shaft joint and pinion. Any offroader knows a rock making contact with this portion is BAD and can carry an EXPENSIVE repair.
