Описание: Detectorists: how do you deal with trashy fields whilst metal detecting? I’m talking ring pulls, cans, moo tubes… 🗑️

It certainly does 'test your mettle'! In this video I find out what you can learn from trash on historical ground. I’m not a huge fan of old maps to read the land (for a number of reasons I am happy to go into on another vid!) but this trip I really fell back on a map from the 1840s, and it helped me find three really decent objects in challenging conditions. Including double silver!

Come along metal detecting with me at my NEW PERMISSION, as I enjoy a summer detecting session in the English countryside. A medieval village, close to a Romano British site. I just passed the 18 month mark as a beginner detectorist - I’m continuing my exploration of this fascinating new UK permission and getting to know the land through my finds…
