How To Choose Your Size In A Sewing Pattern | Body Measurements & Finished Measurements Explained

Описание: One of the things I absolutely love about teaching Fitting Skills to my students is demystifying the confusion caused by all the numbers on a pattern. You may find choosing your size by comparing your body measurements to the standard body measurements on the pattern gives you a finished garment that is either too big or too small. Basically it doesn’t fit how you want it to and that leaves you feeling pretty fed up.

Today I’m sharing my tips for how to choose the right pattern size. Once you understand the difference between body measurements vs finished measurements, including wearing ease and design ease, then you will be able to pick the correct pattern size for you. Don’t forget you can grade between sizes also for bust, waist and hip. Very few of us fit into those standardised columns.
