I am Rachel Hoyt — an artist, writer, and independent sociology researcher studying the meanings associated with signs, symbols, and systems such as tarot, playing cards, and poker.

I wandered upon the Magus (a widely cited resource on magic) while researching tarot and was surprised by the wording (to say the least). My Christian upbringing had kept me from reading such things until now. Yet the words of this prayer wish that the Lord's will be done on earth as it is in heaven; they ask that all things work together for the glory and honor of God.
