South Carolina women’s basketball continues to dominate on the defensive end as Joyce Edwards and Raven Johnson have both been named to the 2026 Naismith Women’s College Defensive Player of the Year Late-Season Watch List.
The Gamecocks are the only team in the nation with multiple players on the list, highlighting just how elite their defense has been this season. South Carolina leads the country in field goal percentage defense (33.5%) and ranks among the top teams in scoring defense, allowing just 56.0 points per game.
