Описание: Bolivian riot police clashed with supporters of former Bolivian President Evo Morales and coca farmers during anti-government protests on Wednesday (May 28).

Police shot rubber bullets and tear gas at demonstrators who responded by throwing firecrackers and various objects such as tires and rocks in return.

Protesters demanded that Morales be allowed to run as a presidential candidate in the August election.

Earlier in May, a constitutional court decision upheld a ban on any individual serving more than two presidential terms, effectively preventing Morales, a political power player for almost two decades, from running again.

Morales, who ruled the country from 2006 to 2019 and was Bolivia's first Indigenous president, has challenged his exclusion, with groups that support him organizing protests and traffic stoppages.
