Environmental issues became one of the biggest marketing argument for car manufacturer, and together with states, countries and even continents, we are pushed to trash older cars to transition to electric cars like Tesla, Polestar or Lucid.
But does that even make sense?

While some electric cars appear to be qualitative, how sure are we that these cars will last through time?
The car production itself is by far the biggest factor of pollution from the Automotive Industry.
So why not just maintaining and preserving what is already on the road?
12M cars are being sent to the junkyard every year in the US; while some of these cars are probably crashed, some others - like the car in the video - are still very much road-worthy and to a certain extent, way more than any new car.
As a Classic car enthusiast, I must beg the question - without any political layer to it - do we really need newer cars in the context we are in? Not even getting into the subject of electric car batteries, their mining, etc;
The simple mass production of new cars IS SOMETHING WE SHOULD STOP.
A lot of people stopped shopping at large grocery stores for cheaper products because THEY KNOW it is a highly polluting industry.
A lot of people stopped shopping at big fast-fashion brands like Zara or H&M because THEY KNOW it is a highly polluting industry.
A lot of people end up getting used clothing, used furniture, used everything because it proved to be going through the years, solid and made at a time where quality was more important than volume.
Are we ever going to see a Tesla Model 3 crossing the 200k miles mark?
Are we ever going to see a Tesla Cybertruck crossing the 100k miles mark?
Whether we want it or not, companies like Tesla became marketing agency more interested in selling you a PRODUCT rather than a true SOLUTION.
We think we are making the right choice with buying NEW electric cars, but are we?
If you are one of these people being careful about your purchases and choices, all I am asking for is for you to think twice.
In CA, you can receive a rebate up to $7,500 for buying an electric car that will probably last just about 80k miles, while inciting you to trash your 250k miles vehicle; for these ones, $7,500 could be 250k more miles driven with no pollution linked to trashing a car and producing a new one.
Let's change something.
