Last night at 8:30 PM, we experienced something truly unforgettable during a scuba dive at South Monastery Beach, California — a massive squid spawning event, also known as a “squid run.”
Thousands of California squid swarmed the shallow waters in a wild, ghostly mating frenzy, laying egg capsules across the seafloor. The entire dive was surreal—imagine being engulfed in a living cloud of shimmering, pulsing squid, drawn to our dive lights in the dark.
