In Episode 7 of *What If...?*, we revisit the universe of Nova Prime Nebula as a monstrous interdimensional beast attacks Xandar. Captain Carter, wielding Kang's Time Sphere from *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania*, leads a team of unconventional heroes: Kahhori, a portal-creating Tesseract wielder; Byrdie, a tech genius and daughter of Howard the Duck and Darcy; and Storm, the Goddess of Thunder.

The episode introduces the "Exiles," tasked with undoing The Watcher's past actions after he's captured by the Eminence, Incarnate, and Executioner. They modify the Time Chair to access the Fifth Dimension, using shattered shards from the Observational Plane as power sources. Storm's divine powers open an Asgardian portal, but success remains elusive. They then seek an Infinity Ultron Variant to break through reality's boundaries, recalling Ultron’s prior multiverse travels in Season 1. Peggy Carter sacrifices herself to find Ultron, who ultimately aids the team by absorbing a shard and powering their journey to the multiversal observation plane.

Episode 8 takes us back to Uatu’s induction into the Watcher Order, where he vows to protect the multiverse but is branded a heretic for intervening. Past alliances with figures like Strange Supreme, Peggy Carter, and Kahhori are revealed, as is his secret aid to Reed Richards and She-Hulk's Madisynn.

Infinity Ultron intervenes in the Watchers' trial, sacrificing himself to save Uatu and the Exiles. The team seeks refuge in Strange Supreme’s reality but must battle the Eminence's forces. Donning Watcher battle suits, the Exiles gain enhanced powers. Iconic themes from X-Men '97 and Captain America's legacy resonate as Peggy’s shield shatters, and Storm wields Mjolnir in a Wakanda-like entrance.

As the multiverse shatters, variants of the Exiles—like Black Panther Storm and Asgardian Peggy—are erased. In a climactic moment, Captain Carter transcends her limits, becoming a cosmic being. She sacrifices herself to transport the Eminence to Strange's living universe, made of his essence, where the villain is finally defeated.

Uatu vows to protect the multiverse differently, hinting at new possibilities as the season concludes.
