In our August Blues workshop we explored different ways that we can add solo Blues movement into our partner dancing. With Ballroomin' Blues, fishtails are a great match and you can do them by yourself, with your partner, or add a fancy fishtail turn.
The turn is a bit tricky - good timing from the lead is key to ensure a smooth turn for the follow, while the follows need to concentrate on maintaining their balance and using their core muscles to keep the turn controlled and smooth.
Then we finished it off with a fancy twist on an old favourite dip: the Side Dip... in this version we add an extra half turn for the follow to catch on the reverse side.
