ASAGBA SEEKS URGENT FIX OF ASABA-BENIN ROAD

Now to Delta State, the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, urges the Federal Government to urgently repair the failed portions of the Asaba end of the Asaba-Benin highway.
Inspecting the road, the monarch laments over a year of neglect despite a rehabilitation flag-off in March. He says waiting for the project to progress from the Agbor end is no longer acceptable, especially as rains worsen the damage.
The Asagba warns the road’s condition is affecting flights, local businesses, and forcing heavy trucks onto inner roads, risking total collapse.
He calls on FERMA and the Ministry of Works to act immediately, suggesting the State Government can intervene and be reimbursed later, as the road is critical for movement of goods and people to Onitsha and beyond.
