A Physician Assistant; Establishing Rapport w/Patients

Описание: Peace be to you all! In this video, I talk about some of the ways that I try establish a rapport with challenging patients and family members. Remaining calm is a key element in the succes of this technique. Also, positioning myself so that the patient does not feel threatened, is important (sitting at their bedside instead of looming over them). I also do this with patients with whom I have to discuss very difficult issues (e.g. end-of-life, pain management, etc.). These are things that can be practiced in order to maximize our relationship with our patients and their families. It can help lend to the most efficacious care possible.
