The courses which are offered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi are design-oriented and inter-disciplinary which makes the students well suited to pursue their desired career goals. The institute aims at developing the intellect, build strong fundamentals, bring out creativity and hone interpersonal skills of the students with the help of innovative teaching programmes.

The campus of IIT Mandi is fully residential with a large gathering of students, academicians and staff members. IIT Mandi offers various infrastructural facilities to the students. The campus has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, facilities for indoor and outdoor games, internet connectivity. The library of the institute is computerized and air-conditioned having books, textbooks, journals, thesis etc. There are also labs, conference rooms, auditorium and seminar halls that are fully air-conditioned with the latest multimedia technologies.
