“Where Were You?” — also known as “Guardian Angel” — is a poignant metal rock track from my album Vision, dedicated to the expressive power of metal, symphonic metal, and rock. This reimagined version transforms the original song into a cinematic journey through despair, remembrance, and redemption.

Inspired by Shadowbane, the tragic antagonist from my book series “Believe in Miracles”, the song captures the inner cry of a child who has lost everything — his mother, father, sister, and his sense of future. It is a lament and a question echoing through the darkness: Where were you when the world fell apart?

Set against the backdrop of real-world tragedy — the war and suffering in Ukraine and Russia — “Where Were You (Reimagined)” stands as a musical reflection on loss, innocence destroyed, and the silent prayers of children caught in conflict.

The accompanying visual art, featured on the cover and thumbnail, reflects the song’s haunting beauty — a fusion of human emotion and dreamlike surrealism that mirrors the atmosphere of Vision.

Through Vision, I strive to explore the emotional and spiritual dimensions of humanity — light and shadow, love and despair — blending music and storytelling into one immersive experience.
