The end of the XX century

The year 1991 -- after the collapse of the Soviet Union new independent republics emerged on the world map. Dissolution of the Soviet Union led to military conflicts between some of these newly -- established republics.

The war over Nagorno -- Karabakh was one of the most tragic conflicts, occurred by collapse of the Soviet Union. This conflict ended with occupation of the
20 percent of Azerbaijani territories by neighbouring Armenia.

After the banishment of 200.000 azerbaijanis living in Armenia from their historical land, Armenia occupied Nagorno -- Karabakh and 7 surrounding districts. During the occupation of these lands armenian armed forces committed a number of crimes against humanity, and the Khojaly genocide was most tragic one of them.


An occupation and deliberate massacre of Khojaly citizen was planned and executed by people who then become 2nd President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and current President of Armenia Serj Sargsyan. Occupation of Khojaly city was implemented not only Armenian armed forces, but also participation of 366th motorized rifle regiment of the Sovet army which was stationed in Khankendi city of Nagorno -- Karabajh since 1985.


Khojaly has been besieged and occasionally attacked since the end of the 1991 and its transportation routes have been disconnected from the entire world. The city, whose thousands of people were banished from their native land, was occupied by Armenian armed forces with participation of the 366th rifle regiment of Soviet army over the night form 25-26 February, 1992.

As a result of this occupation, Khojaly city has been completely destroyed, and its residents have been killed because of their Azerbaijani nationality.

In Khojaly genocide 613 people have been violently killed
Including,
63 children
106 women
70 elderly people.
25 children lost their both parents.
8 families were entirely killed.
1275 people were captured during occupation of Khojaly and, 150 people were lost without a trace


Khojaly is one of the bloodiest genocides of the end of 20th century. Khojaly is among these genocides like Rwanda, Srebrenica which were written in the history of humanity. Mexico, Columbia and Peru and more that 10 states of USA officially recognized Khojaly as an act of genocide. Although 22 years have passed since Khojaly genocide, people who planned and ececuted Khojaly genocide have not been punished, and prosecuted. For preventing repetition of such bloody genocides and for declaration of jusctice we invite everybody to recognize Khojaly genocide. As we demand justice fo khihaly
